Profitec GO 2.0: The Benchmark Entry-Level Single Boiler Gets Updated
Since its launch, the Profitec GO has earned a reputation as one of the best entry-level single boiler espresso machines on the market, thanks to its solid build quality, ease of use, and impressive performance.
With the new Profitec GO 2.0, Profitec has introduced a range of thoughtful upgrades that make an already excellent machine even more appealing, while preserving everything that made the original such a success.
The most noticeable change is the redesigned control panel. At the top of the machine you'll now find just two brew buttons: one for a single espresso and one for a double. Both buttons are fully time programmable, allowing you to set the pre-infusion time as well as the total shot time. Once the programmed extraction time has been reached, the machine automatically stops the shot, ensuring consistent results every time.
The display has also been completely redesigned. It is now positioned at the top of the front panel for improved visibility and features a bright OLED screen paired with two navigation buttons, making it quick and intuitive to browse the settings menu. Users can easily adjust brew temperature, configure pre-infusion, activate Eco Mode, and access several other settings to tailor the machine to their preferences.
One of the most welcome additions is the ability to dispense hot water through the steam wand, a feature that was missing on the original GO. Activating it is simple: just press both brew buttons simultaneously and open the steam valve. In seconds, you'll have hot water ready for an Americano or any other hot beverage.
Profitec has also introduced a clever new feature called Shot Protection. If the water level in the reservoir becomes critically low during extraction, the machine will allow the current shot to finish instead of stopping midway, preventing wasted coffee and ensuring a consistent extraction.
The proven 58 mm ring brew group remains unchanged and is ready to brew in approximately seven minutes. The portafilter, however, has been redesigned to offer greater versatility. Included in the box is a bottomless portafilter together with interchangeable single and double silicone spouts, allowing users to configure it according to their brewing preferences.
Maintenance has also become easier. The GO 2.0 now includes an automatic group cleaning cycle as well as a guided descaling program, making routine maintenance simpler than ever.
With all these improvements, Profitec has raised the bar once again for entry-level single boiler espresso machines. Even more impressive is that all these features are packed into a footprint just 21 cm wide, making the GO 2.0 an excellent choice even for kitchens where space is at a premium.
The Profitec GO 2.0 will be available not only in classic Black and Brushed Stainless Steel, but also in the vibrant colours that have become a signature of the GO series: Yellow, Blue, and Red.
The GO 2.0 proves that an already outstanding machine can still be made better. By introducing genuinely useful new features while maintaining its simplicity and compact design, Profitec has strengthened the GO's position as one of the most compelling entry-level espresso machines for home baristas looking for quality, control, and reliability.
