The Hario Coffee Mill Column is a manual grinder with a retro column silhouette: a slim body that is easy to hold firmly while you turn the crank, with natural wood for the base and the lid knob. Hario has been working glass and ceramic in Tokyo since 1921, and the Column carries that quiet, functional design language.
The ceramic burrs shave the beans without building up heat from friction, protecting the aromatics of the coffee, and the grind can be adjusted from fine to coarse for moka, pour over or French press. The grounds container holds up to 40 g of coffee. Dimensions 152 × 104 × 231 mm, weight about 600 g.
Like every hand mill it asks a couple of minutes of honest work per dose, in exchange for a compact, silent grinder that needs no power outlet.
