★★★★★ Lagom Casa – home endgame for light and medium roasts

I've been using the Casa since March for both espresso and filter. I've worked as a barista for about 7 years, and before this I had a DF64 with stock burrs and later SSP HU, plus a Comandante and a ZP6 for hand grinding.
Taste: more clarity and juiciness than the DF64 with HU. Both are sweet, but the Casa leans less toward the heavy chocolate profile and gives you more of the delicate, round flavors that tend to get lost with HU. It's also honest. It shows each coffee as it is, so you quickly learn which beans you actually like and which you don't. For me that's a big plus.
Best for light to medium roasts, Israeli and imported. I've put very light coffees through it and it never stalled. If you mainly drink classic dark roasts and want heavy, syrupy shots, this probably isn't the grinder for you.
It makes fewer fines than what I was used to, so expect a bit less body and grind finer than you think at first.
Workflow: clean on the counter, very little retention, simple. No RPM control and no burr swaps, and I don't miss them. I literally don't think about it, I just make coffee.
Support: after about a week the auto-stop stopped working. I emailed Lagom and got a clear answer within about 3 hours (the feature had been turned off by pressing the button several times), and it was fixed in a minute.
Downsides: shipping and customs to Israel make it pricier than it should be. I wouldn't use it in a café, it's a home grinder. For home use, though, I don't see a reason to spend more.
Ordered from Espresso Coffee Shop. It arrived really fast and well packed.
