Rocket Bicocca Espresso Machine

The Rocket Bicocca is the flagship of Rocket's domestic range, built for people who make espresso at home with a barista's care. Rocket gave the project to Milan studio Valerio Cometti + V12 Design with a clear brief: an elegant, purposeful machine with professional performance and the brand's craftsmanship intact. The taut lines of the panels say exactly that: solidity and reliability.

At its heart is a dual boiler system with independent stainless steel boilers, 0.5 l for brewing and 1.5 l for steam, so brew temperature and steam pressure stay stable even while you texture milk and pull consecutive shots. The electrically heated group with PID control holds the set temperature and limits heat loss, from the first espresso of the day to the last.

Above the group sits the 3.5 inch touch display, the machine's control centre. From here you can programme up to two volumetric recipes, adjusting beverage volume, pre infusion and extraction time, and set calendar based auto on and off so the machine is hot exactly when you need it. Despite its professional specification, the Bicocca reaches brew temperature in around 8-10 minutes.

What we love

We think the Bicocca is the Rocket for people who want the control of a modern machine without giving up substance: stainless steel boilers, rotary pump and a PID group, with an interface that is quick to learn and recipes that repeat the same way every morning. And we like that it stays a Rocket through and through, handmade in Milan.
