The questions we are asked most often about this machine.
In the Beverage pressure profiles menu you find 22 profiles: 6 standard ones preset by Sanremo (you can only change their volume), 10 Custom ones you edit yourself and 6 kept for profiles made with the paddle. In a Custom profile you switch pre-infusion on or off (with pressure and time), choose the infusion pressure, switch post-infusion on or off (with pressure and millilitres) and give it a name. Move between screens with the arrows and save with the V tick.
To use it, tap the notepad icon: you assign a profile and a water quantity to each of the 1, 2 and 3 buttons. With the paddle, instead, you change the pressure by hand while you brew: when you bring it back to the start, a star appears between the P and M buttons; tap it to save that shot on one of the 6 paddle profiles. The M button brews continuously at a constant 9 bar.
On You machines fitted with the Wi-Fi module (you can tell by the label on the back of the drip tray), download the Sanremo Connector app, connect your phone to the machine's own Wi-Fi network (name and password are on that label, in the Wi-Fi menu or in the QR code), then use Change Wi-Fi network to connect the You to your home router, secured with WPA2 or WPA3. If you cannot use the app, open 192.168.10.1 in your browser, with no more than 2 users connected at the same time.
From the app you set the boiler and group temperature, the boiler pressure and up to 6 time slots a day in which the machine switches on, goes to ECO or switches off. With a Sanremo cloud account you can reach it even when you are not on your home network.
Yes: the You works with its 2.5 litre reservoir or plumbed in, and it leaves the factory set to the reservoir. To switch to mains you remove the cup warmer tray and turn a lever with a screwdriver: Sanremo asks for this, and the plumbing itself, to be done by a qualified technician.
For the hook-up you need a drain with a trap at least 20 cm below the surface the machine stands on, a water softener with a sediment filter and a tap before the softener; feed it with cold water only and, if the mains pressure is above 4 bar, fit a pressure reducer. An icon on the display tells you whether you are in reservoir or mains mode: for the mains, light blue means it is fine, orange means pressure below 1 bar, red above 4 bar.
It depends on how much you use it, but as a rule:
Do not overdo the detergent: even in small amounts, over time it strips the grease from the gaskets and O-rings and dries them out.
On the You the blind filter clean is started from the menu (manual wash, about 3 minutes).
With this routine and good quality water, the machine does not need descaling.
No. If you use the right water and keep up the routine (a flush after every coffee, a daily backflush with water and one with detergent every 1-2 weeks), descaling is not needed.
If you find scale, Sanremo says to call the service centre: descaling is done by a technician.
