★★★★★ If you want to get seriously into espresso and not spend a fortune, go with the Go! :)

Eduardo D. · October 22, 2026 · Verified purchase

I used to have a DeLonghi super-automatic espresso machine. I had it for 5-6 years and it was great until I decided to get more serious about espresso.
The Profitec Go is great, built like a tank, very reliable.
I love the quality of drinks I get and now that I had it for a couple of months I started playing with latte art, still not there yet but I can´t blame the machine.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often about this machine.

What do "UP" and "FLU" mean on the Go display?

They are the two stages of fast heat-up. If you switch the Go on with the boiler below 40 °C, Fast Heat Up starts and the display shows "UP": it takes about six and a half minutes, a little longer if the room or the water is cold.

When "FLU" appears, leave the portafilter in, put a tall cup underneath and run water until the display shows "rdY/Go": about 20 seconds. If you do not do it within a minute, "FLU" alternates with the temperature and the boiler cools down to brewing temperature on its own. If you start a shot while "UP" is still showing, fast heat-up stops and the group takes a little longer to get hot.

The Go has a single boiler: how do I make coffee and milk?

Coffee first, then milk: that is the right order. Press the steam button and let the boiler heat up. Before frothing, open the steam valve for about 5 seconds and repeat twice more 10 seconds apart: this takes some water out of the boiler and gives you more steam. After the milk, the boiler needs refilling.

To go back to coffee, switch the steam off, put a container under the group and run the coffee button until no more steam comes out. Before the next coffee, check on the display that the temperature has dropped enough.

What water should I use in the Go?

Soft, still drinking water, up to 4 °dH. If yours is harder, use a water softener or the 89445.K filter cartridge, which goes in the tank under the lid.

How do I look after the machine?

It depends on how much you use it, but as a rule:

  • after every espresso run a little water through the group (flush): it clears coffee residue from the shower screen;
  • every day backflush with the blind filter and water only;
  • every 1-2 weeks, more often if you use it a lot, backflush with espresso machine detergent.

Do not overdo the detergent: even in small amounts, over time it strips the grease from the gaskets and O-rings and dries them out.

The detergent clean is due roughly every 90-140 coffees, and the Go reminds you with CLn on the display. It also asks you to refresh the boiler water every 1-2 weeks.

With this routine and good quality water, the machine does not need descaling.

Do I need to descale the machine?

No. If you use the right water and keep up the routine (a flush after every coffee, a daily backflush with water and one with detergent every 1-2 weeks), descaling is not needed.

If your tap water is hard, use a softener or the filter cartridge. A Go that has already scaled up must be descaled by your specialist dealer only, because the boiler and tubing may need partial disassembly. Preventive descaling should also be agreed with the dealer first: do not do it on your own.

Will the Go work with the mains in my home?

The 220 V version is rated 230 V, 50 Hz: it suits 220-240 V mains, the voltage in most of the world, Europe included. If your mains are 60 Hz or low voltage, write to us before ordering.

Before plugging it in, check the type plate on the front panel and use an earthed socket, with no extension cords or multiple sockets.
