ECM Synchronika II 30th Anniversary Edition Espresso Machine

The Synchronika II is ECM's best loved dual boiler, and for the company's 30th anniversary the German manufacturer has built a celebration edition: 900 machines worldwide, each one individually numbered. Once they are gone, this version will not be made again.

The look changes, the substance does not. Brew group, valves and portafilters are black chrome plated, the gauges have an embossed finish, handles and feet are in oak wood, and the machine carries the numbered Limited Edition emblem in stainless steel.

Inside, it is the Synchronika II we know well: stainless steel dual boiler (0.75 l for coffee, 2.0 l for steam), the 3CT system controlling the temperature of both boilers and the brew group, and the cartridge heated ECM Core Heat brew group, which gets it ready in about six and a half minutes and keeps the temperature steady shot after shot.

The OLED display with encoder handles programmable pre infusion, the timer, the shot counter and cleaning reminders. The rotary pump is quiet, the valves are lever operated, the 2.8 l water tank can be swapped for a direct water connection, and the box includes two ECM portafilters, one with a double spout and one bottomless, 7, 14 and 21 g baskets and a water filter cartridge.

ECM celebrated without touching what works: this is the same machine we have been recommending for years to people who take espresso seriously, with details you appreciate up close. The oak warms up the steel, the black chrome gives the group character, and the number on the emblem makes it a machine to keep.
