This is the most powerful and, despite being the most expensive version, also the most sold coffee grinder in the Atom line up. With 75 mm flat burrs it’s performance matches the ones of the Professional coffee grinders. However, thanks to its compact size, it will fit in basically any kitchen.

If you want the best compromise between performance and everyday usability, this is the coffee grinder for you. Powered by a whopping 800-watt motor at 1400 rpm, this coffee grinder’s performance matches the ones of the top performance professional coffee grinders. However, it is shorter and narrower compared to those which makes it very handy in small kitchens. Despite the size, you will find Eureka’s latest technologies inside. To begin with, there is the ACE system or Anti-Clumping Electrostaticity, also known most simply as the anti-clump system. By eliminating the electric charge in the ground coffee the system avoids the formation of clumps and leaves your kitchen cleaner. The regulation of the doses is straightforward thanks to the single, double and manual programming through the use of simple +/- buttons fitted below the display. Press the * button in the middle and you will enter a manual mode for personalized coffee shots. The Atom also has an anti-clump system that through the elimination of the static charge creates a uniform and consistent ground coffee without those annoying clumps we see in many coffee grinders nowadays. The noise won’t be a problem either because thanks to an anti-vibration system called silent technology, you can easily speak and be heard while grinding the coffee. Another feature worth mentioning is the anti-vibration system called Silent Technology. It drastically reduces the noise of the motor and makes this coffee grinder up to 20 dB quieter than conventional coffee grinders. This is very good if you have an apartment with thin walls or if you are talking to someone while preparing your coffee.

Pros

Best of both worlds: being a compact coffee grinder with Professional performance we believe that for home-focused it has very few rivals.

Silence: we believe that silence matters especially in homes. Put this coffee grinder in a crowded bar and it will make little difference, put it in your house and you will avoid waking up your partner, kids, or neighbors. You won’t believe it until you hear it.

Things to Consider

Optional Blow-up: if you have come this far in this version of the Atom, you want to aim for near-zero retention of ground coffee. Eureka’s blow-up system is as simple as effective but its an option you have to pay apart.

Adjust while grinding: in order to avoid coffee beans blocking the ground chamber, we recommend to always adjust the grind settings when the burrs are working.

  • 1×Coffee bean hopper (tall or low depending on configuration, to be fitted)
  • 1×Adjustable hands-free portafilter fork

Not only is this an incredible value on ECS, it's a fantastic grinder. It looks even nicer in person. Well designed, solid, and fantastic service/support from ECS. Also, it's incredibly quiet and VERY fast.

★★★★★ Nothing but love for ECS

About ECS: This is my second order from Singapore. Order was processed quickly, shipment via UPS was so fast - ordered on 3 Aug 2022 and received on 6 Aug 2022.

About grinder: I’ve done my research, grinder received well packaged and I’m happy with it so far having upgraded from Eureka Mignon Specialita.

★★★★★ Fast and quiet

Comparing with the mignon, this grinder is much more fast and quiet.
Although is relatively huge, but considering its specification, it is compact,
and the white color coating is clean and beautiful though a little bit protuberances exist.

★★★★★ Top Espresso Grinder

John A. · January 14, 2022 · Verified purchase

The speed of this grinder is amazing, 3 seconds or less for a double shot (I have it set at 2.7 seconds) using the standard burrs. I think you would only want to upgrade the burrs if you are using this commercially. The interface is regarded as one of the best, and I can see why. So easy to adjust. The grinding sound is pleasant and exceptionally low for a coffee grinder. The ground coffee is light an fluffy, and very easy to dial in for perfect shots. EspressoCoffeeShop shipped the product very quickly and it was securely packaged. Also, the standard shipping method was ideal. It only took a few days to reach me from Italy to mid-USA, including an expedited stop in customs. I highly recommend this grinder and EspressoCoffeeShop (buy with confidence). Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often about this grinder.

How do I set the doses on the Atom Specialty? And what if I can no longer change the times?

Doses are time-based. Choose the single or double dose with its button and set the time with + and −; then rest the portafilter on the fork until it presses the button under the spout, and grinding starts. The Manual Mode button switches to continuous grinding: it grinds as long as the portafilter presses the button, or you start and stop with the same key. Set the times by weighing the ground coffee.

If + and − no longer change the time and you see a padlock on the display, you have locked the settings by pressing them together. Press them together again to unlock.

What is the difference between the Atom W, Excellence, Specialty and Pro? And between 65 and 75 mm?

Every Atom has flat burrs, stepless micrometric adjustment and a motor running at 1,300 to 1,400 rpm. What changes most is how you set the dose:

  • Atom W (W 65, W 75 and W 65 Casa): grinds by weight. The scale sits in the fork: you set the grams on the touch display and grinding stops by itself at the dose, consistent to 0.2 g. The W 65 Casa is the home version, with a 300 g hopper.
  • Atom Excellence: touch display and time-based doses, single and double plus an extra dose or a third dose, and continuous grinding.
  • Atom Specialty: display with physical buttons and time-based doses, single and double plus manual mode; it starts when the portafilter presses the button under the spout.
  • Atom Pro: 75 mm burrs, no programmed doses, started and stopped with the START/STOP switch. It is designed mainly for filter coffee, with magnetic forks for the V60 and for the filter tray.
  • 65 or 75 mm: within the same series the 75 has larger burrs and a more powerful motor, so it grinds more grams per second. For example 2.3-3.8 g/s for the Atom W 65 and 3.3-4.8 g/s for the Atom W 75.
How do I adjust the grind without jamming the burrs?

Turn the knob clockwise for a finer grind, towards espresso, and anticlockwise for a coarser one, towards filter. The adjustment is stepless: go gradually and grind a little coffee every two notches at most. After each adjustment, grind 2 or 3 doses before judging the result.

When you go finer, do it with the motor running. Turning more than 3 notches with the motor stopped can jam or damage the machine. If that happens, write to us before sending it in for service.

Tall, short or Blow Up hopper: which should I choose?

The tall hopper holds 1.4 kg of coffee beans; the short one holds less but takes up less height. The Blow Up versions have a bellows in the lid: at the end of grinding, press the lid firmly a couple of times and the puff of air pushes out the ground coffee left in the spout, so less stays behind between one dose and the next. Smoked means dark plastic instead of clear.

Which burrs should I choose: Hardened Steel, Diamond or Red Speed?

They are all flat burrs of the same size for your Atom Specialty: what changes is the treatment, and so how long they stay sharp.

  • Hardened Steel: hardened steel, the standard burrs. Check them and, if needed, replace them every 350 kg of ground coffee.
  • Diamond: these are Diamond Inside burrs, with a patented cryogenic treatment at -193 °C. They are the longest lasting: with 65 mm burrs the grind stays consistent for about 1,300 kg of coffee.
  • Red Speed: a treatment that makes flat burrs last longer than steel. There is no figure in kilos for these.

Our advice: at home 350 kg is many years of coffee and Hardened Steel is enough; the treatments make sense in a café, where the kilos add up quickly.

Can I use the Atom Specialty in my café?

Yes, it is designed for professional use by trained staff. Doses are time-based, the counters keep track of single and double doses, and the burrs should be checked every 350 kg of ground coffee.

Between 65 and 75 mm the difference matters most at peak times: the Atom Specialty 65 grinds 2-3.5 g/s, the Atom Specialty 75 4-5.5 g/s, with a more powerful motor and a 1.4 kg hopper instead of 1.2.

220 V or 110 V: which version should I choose?

The one that matches the mains where you will use it. Eureka makes the Atom in a 220-240 V version, the voltage in most of the world, Europe included, and in a 110-120 V version for low-voltage mains, such as North America.

If you are not sure about your mains, write to us before ordering.
