★★★★★ Grinder

If you want to have a taste of what it's like to own a professional coffee grinder, then this is the one to go for. With 65 mm flat burrs, this version of the Atom is capable of productivity of up to 3.7 grams per second and a power output of 510 Watt. The burrs are the same that you will find in the Zenith, the more commercial-focused coffee grinder in the Eureka line-up. Despite the size, you will find Eureka’s latest technologies inside. To begin with, there is the ACE system or Anti-Clumping Electrostaticity, also known most simply as the anti-clump system. By eliminating the electric charge in the ground coffee the system avoids the formation of clumps and leaves your kitchen cleaner. You also get the well known Eureka Patented micrometric adjustment that allows you to cover basically any coffee techniques while remaining extremely precise. Unlike the more professional coffee grinders like the Olympus 75 E or the Helios, this coffee grinder is shorter and narrower making it the ideal choice if space is limited. The regulation of the doses is straightforward thanks to the use of simple +/- buttons to select the timing for single and double doses. Press the * button in the middle and you will enter a manual mode for personalized coffee shots. Another feature worth mentioning is the anti-vibration system called Silent Technology. It drastically reduces the noise of the motor and makes this coffee grinder up to 20 dB quieter than conventional coffee grinders. This is very good if you have an apartment with thin walls or if you are talking to someone while preparing your coffee.
Pros
Performance: it's fitted with all the technology and the burrs from a professional coffee grinder while being practical and compact for a more home barista set up.
Good Value for your money: considering it uses the same features present in the more commercial coffee grinders, this is priced at a relatively low price.
The Silence: like other Eureka models, even the Atom Specialty 65 is fitted with the Silent Technology, which we highly praise for making the coffee grinder significantly quieter than conventional ones. You won't believe it until you hear it.
Things to Consider
Blow-up needed: for near-zero retention of ground coffee for each grind, Eureka’s blow-up system is a must. This system is as simple as effective.
Adjust while grinding: in order to avoid coffee beans blocking the ground chamber, we recommend to always adjust the grind settings when the burrs are working.

The questions we are asked most often about this grinder.
Doses are time-based. Choose the single or double dose with its button and set the time with + and −; then rest the portafilter on the fork until it presses the button under the spout, and grinding starts. The Manual Mode button switches to continuous grinding: it grinds as long as the portafilter presses the button, or you start and stop with the same key. Set the times by weighing the ground coffee.
If + and − no longer change the time and you see a padlock on the display, you have locked the settings by pressing them together. Press them together again to unlock.
Every Atom has flat burrs, stepless micrometric adjustment and a motor running at 1,300 to 1,400 rpm. What changes most is how you set the dose:
Turn the knob clockwise for a finer grind, towards espresso, and anticlockwise for a coarser one, towards filter. The adjustment is stepless: go gradually and grind a little coffee every two notches at most. After each adjustment, grind 2 or 3 doses before judging the result.
When you go finer, do it with the motor running. Turning more than 3 notches with the motor stopped can jam or damage the machine. If that happens, write to us before sending it in for service.
The tall hopper holds 1.2 kg of coffee beans; the short one holds less but takes up less height. The Blow Up versions have a bellows in the lid: at the end of grinding, press the lid firmly a couple of times and the puff of air pushes out the ground coffee left in the spout, so less stays behind between one dose and the next. Smoked means dark plastic instead of clear.
They are all flat burrs of the same size for your Atom Specialty: what changes is the treatment, and so how long they stay sharp.
Our advice: at home 350 kg is many years of coffee and Hardened Steel is enough; the treatments make sense in a café, where the kilos add up quickly.
Yes, it is designed for professional use by trained staff. Doses are time-based, the counters keep track of single and double doses, and the burrs should be checked every 350 kg of ground coffee.
Between 65 and 75 mm the difference matters most at peak times: the Atom Specialty 65 grinds 2-3.5 g/s, the Atom Specialty 75 4-5.5 g/s, with a more powerful motor and a 1.4 kg hopper instead of 1.2.
The one that matches the mains where you will use it. Eureka makes the Atom in a 220-240 V version, the voltage in most of the world, Europe included, and in a 110-120 V version for low-voltage mains, such as North America.
If you are not sure about your mains, write to us before ordering.
