The questions we are asked most often about this grinder.
Close the tab at the base of the hopper and pour in your dose of beans. Put the metal cup or the portafilter on the fork, press the side button (no need to hold it) and after a moment open the tab.
When all the beans are ground, close the tab again, press the Blow Up bellows 4-5 times to push out the remaining grounds and switch off with the same button. Press the bellows with the motor running and the tab closed, and avoid grinding more than 160 g at a time.
Yes, it is the Zero 65 All Purpose. The 65 mm flat burrs, with a blind upper burr, are designed for espresso and every filter method: it is suited to Turkish, espresso, moka, drip and French press, and the recommended roast is light.
To move between methods, use the King Size dial with its revolution counter: we suggest noting how many turns you use for each method, so you can go straight back to it.
Turn the dial clockwise for a finer grind and anticlockwise for a coarser one. The adjustment is stepless: go gradually and grind a little coffee every 2 notches at most, including when you go back from filter to espresso.
When you go finer, do it with the motor running. The Zero 65 has a motor designed for home use, less powerful than a commercial grinder's: if you turn the dial a full turn with the motor off, the grinder can jam. If that happens, write to us before sending it in for repair.
About 0.55 g in total. It gets there with the 5° tilted body, the redesigned grinding chamber, the blind upper burr and the single dose kit with the Blow Up bellows. Dose consistency is within ±0.2 g for espresso and ±0.3 g for filter.
To leave as little coffee inside as possible, close the tab at the end of grinding and press the bellows 4-5 times with the motor still running.
All three are single dose grinders with Blow Up bellows and stepless micrometric adjustment. The burrs and the details differ:
For espresso the 55 mm burrs are faster: 1.8-2.5 g per second, against 0.8-1.2 g for the Zero 65.
