I got what I wanted - my first, simple, but robust semi-automatic home espresso machine to learn making a good coffee while having full control over the process. Silvia is very reliable in this, I've been using it for almost a year now, 2-3 coffees prepared almost daily. It arrived bundled with quality tamper, portafilter and 2 baskets. It got plenty of power for steaming milk.
A minor drawback I was aware before purchasing - it needs bit of temperature surfing, since the boiler oscillates in quite a large range of temperatures, depending on the time since orange light dimmed.

I owned the V5 (or V4?) and it was perfect. The V6 is similar except :
- In Europe, a controller which stops the device after 20 minutes. Thats very annoying, since the device needs to keep warm a long time to be at a satisfactory temperature. I had to remove the controller and replace it by a connected controler, as shown in some videos online. And I replaced the main switch, in order to operate the machine not only by app.
- The portafilter is a bit different. I prefered the old one. The new one has an angle that makes more difficult to engage it when the layer of coffee is a bit large. The outlets are less spaced, so that when the flow of coffee is low and deviated, it is difficult to have two cups enough close to each other. In addition, the shape of the outlets makes it more difficult to empty water when rinsing or washing it.
- A better tamper is supplied, it is made of steel (loxer part).

A very good and capable "entry-level" espresso machine. The machine is very powerful as well and can be moded in many ways. The only issues are that the pressure is very high and has to be adjusted down to 9 bars for proper espresso, which is easy to do. Also, preparing back-to-back milk beverages can be frustrating due to the machine's boiler.
I would recommend it to someone buying his first espresso machine.

11 years ago, in 2011, I bought my first ‘real espresso machine’ at Espresso Coffee Shop, Miss Silvia ! Very quickly I managed to tame her, and she fell into my arms with the most exquisite, sweet and velvet cappuccino’s. After several years of being happy together, I discovered she betrayed me and was having a rust issue underneath. With pain in my heart, I went for a divorce and sold her.
Then I went for a Solis Barista Triple heat, a well-known brand, same as Sage the dual boiler. Although this was an upgrade, I was never able to experience the same satisfaction as I got from Miss Silvia. Many variables tweaked and experimented, but no …
So, as you can guess, I sold the Solis, and went back to Espresso Coffee Shop and bought myself the now much younger Miss Silvia V6. After one day, and two or three espressos later, to my delight, I was able to taste the same sweet and velvet cappuccino’s of years gone by …
