ECM Synchronika II Anthracite Espresso Machine

The Synchronika II is ECM's best loved dual boiler, and this is its full anthracite version: body and front panel are anthracite, and the chrome parts stand out against the dark finish. The look changes, the machine is the same.

Inside there is a stainless steel dual boiler (0.75 l for coffee, 2.0 l for steam), the 3CT system controlling the temperature of both boilers and the brew group, and the cartridge heated ECM Core Heat brew group, which gets it ready in about six and a half minutes and keeps the temperature steady shot after shot.

The OLED display with control dial handles active and passive pre infusion, the shot counter, ECO mode, automatic switch on and switch off times and brew group cleaning reminders. The rotary pump is quiet, the boiler and pump gauges are large and easy to read, the 2.8 l water tank can be swapped for a direct water connection, and two ECM portafilters come in the box.

What we love

It is the same Synchronika II we have been recommending for years to people who take espresso seriously, in a darker, more understated finish. The anthracite front gives it a character of its own and makes it easy to pair with a black grinder.
