Profitec GO 2.0 Espresso Machine
The Profitec GO 2.0 takes the compact single-boiler espresso machine everyone loved and makes it smarter. A bright new OLED display puts every setting and your live shot timer front and centre, while selectable pre-infusion and programmable, time-dosed brew buttons give you real control over every extraction.
The 0.3 L brass boiler with PID temperature control and the commercial 58 mm ring brew group are ready to pull a shot in about 7 minutes. A new hot-water function through the steam wand means Americanos and tea on demand, and the modular 58 mm bottomless portafilter (with single and double silicone spouts) keeps it accessory-friendly.
Staying dialled-in is effortless thanks to an automatic brew-group cleaning cycle, a guided descaling program, automatic cool-down after steaming, an in-tank water filter with replacement reminders and an ECO mode with programmable on/off times.
What’s new vs the original GO: OLED display, selectable pre-infusion, hot-water function, 1300 W heating, LED time-dosed brew buttons and integrated maintenance programs.
All in a steel body just 21 cm wide — available in black, brushed stainless steel, yellow, blue and red.

Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most often about this machine.
What is the difference between the Go and the Go 2.0?
The idea is the same: a compact single boiler with a ring group. Almost everything else has changed:
- Display: instead of the 7-segment display at the bottom, there is an OLED display higher up on the front, brighter and easier to read. It guides you through the menus and has shortcuts for the functions you use most.
- Buttons: two LED-lit brew buttons with programmable shot times, instead of a coffee button you start and stop by hand. The steam knob and the portafilter, now modular, are new too.
- More functions: programmable on and off times, pre-infusion (switch it on or off with one press of the left display button), hot water from the wand for Americanos and tea, automatic group cleaning, guided descaling and a water filter change reminder.
- Water tank: when the water is running low the Go 2.0 tells you, but it finishes the shot you are pulling.
Why does the Go 2.0 ask me to flush after switching on?
That is fast heat-up. With Fast Heating on, the Go 2.0 takes the boiler to about 120 °C to warm the group faster; when it gets there, the Flush icon appears. Within 60 seconds, put a container under the group and press one of the brew buttons: the flush stops by itself after 10 seconds and "Ready Go" appears.
If you skip it, the machine stops heating, lets the temperature drop and Flush alternates with the temperature on the display: it is not a fault. The whole warm-up takes about 7 minutes; with Fast Heating off, up to 20.
How do I use steam and hot water on the Go 2.0?
For steam, hold the right display button for 3 seconds. With an empty container under the wand, open it for about 5 seconds and repeat twice more 10 seconds apart, then wait for steam temperature before frothing: it is 128 °C from the factory and you can set it from 115 to 134 °C. When the milk is done, open the wand briefly to purge it, switch steam off with the same button, clean the wand and flush until water comes out of the group: that brings you back to brewing temperature.
For hot water, briefly press both brew buttons together, open the knob and close it when you are done, then press one of the buttons to stop the pump. If you hold both buttons for 5 seconds, automatic group cleaning starts instead.
How do I set the Go 2.0 to switch on automatically?
The times are in the advanced settings, which are hidden from the factory. Open the menu by holding both display buttons together for 3 seconds: scroll with the display buttons, confirm with the top brew button and go back with the bottom one.
- In "Advanced User Settings" choose ON: the advanced settings appear.
- In "Clock Set" set the time and the day of the week.
- In "Schedule Set" choose the day and set up to two on and two off times.
- In "Timer Enable" choose ON: without this step the machine ignores the times.
With the timer off, ECO switch-off applies: 30 minutes from the factory, adjustable up to 600 minutes or off. You will find every step in chapter 10.4 of the manual.
What water should I use in the Go 2.0?
Fresh drinking water, ideally with a carbonate hardness of 2 to 6 °dH: measure it with the test strip in the box. If you are outside that range, use the Make Coffee Yours filter that comes with the machine; with very hard water, scale and a bitter taste can still appear even with the filter. Very soft water can taste acidic, and Profitec advises against water from sodium-based ion-exchange softeners.
If the tank icon appears and both buttons flash quickly, the tank is empty or not seated properly: the float with its magnetic dot goes at the top and the valve at the bottom right.
How do I look after the machine?
It depends on how much you use it, but as a rule:
- after every espresso run a little water through the group (flush): it clears coffee residue from the shower screen;
- every day backflush with the blind filter and water only;
- every 1-2 weeks, more often if you use it a lot, backflush with espresso machine detergent.
Do not overdo the detergent: even in small amounts, over time it strips the grease from the gaskets and O-rings and dries them out.
Profitec recommends the detergent clean roughly every 90-140 coffees.
Will the Go 2.0 work with the mains in my home? Does it run on 60 Hz?
The 220 V version is rated 230 V, 50/60 Hz: it suits 220-240 V mains, the voltage in most of the world, Europe included, including where the frequency is 60 Hz. If your mains are low voltage, write to us before ordering.
Before plugging it in, check the nameplate underneath the machine in the drip tray holder, and use an earthed socket with no extension cables or power strips.
