Through its sophisticated filtering system, it effectively reduces the limescale content and total hardness of tap water. Filtration also has a positive effect on the taste and aroma of the water. This is because, in addition to limescale, particles annoying to smell and taste, such as chlorine, are also removed. The special thing about BWT filter cartridges is that they not only filter and clean the water, but also enrich it with valuable magnesium. The water goes through a total of five filtration processes in the cartridge. This ensures excellent water quality. First, the raw water flows through the inlet into the filter cartridge base. There, the smallest particles are removed through a pre-filter. In the same phase, unwanted odors and flavors such as chlorine are filtered, thanks to the activated carbon. In the central part of the cartridge, the water is decarbonised via an ion exchanger. Magnesium supplementation also takes place here. Subsequently it is treated again by an activated carbon filter and finally passes through a last filter, installed at the cartridge outlet.
