An all Rocket setup, built by hand in Italy: the Appartamento TCA, the new generation of Rocket's most loved compact machine, together with the Faustino 3.1 grinder that shares its design language.
The Appartamento TCA keeps the footprint that made the original a small kitchen favourite and adds what the name promises: Temperature Control Adjustment, four selectable boiler settings (0.9 to 1.2 bar) to match brew temperature to your coffee. The 1.8l copper heat exchanger boiler is now insulated, cutting energy use by around 15%, and the E61 group delivers the thermal stability Rocket machines are known for. The redesign is signed by the Milanese studio V12 Design of Valerio Cometti.
The Faustino 3.1 answers with 50mm hardened steel flat burrs, stepless single turn adjustment, three programmable doses on touch controls and a 300g hopper, in a sound insulated aluminium body that sits naturally next to the machine.
One corner of the counter covering grinding and extraction, with the build quality a Rocket is bought for: staying in the kitchen for years.
The Appartamento TCA is the evolution of the iconic Appartamento espresso machine, with a modern aesthetic and features that take the Appartamento up a gear.
The new design and new 4 preset temperature settings are aimed at delivering an even better coffee experience in the home, raising the benchmark for performance in this category of premium domestic espresso machines.
The Appartamento TCA was designed by Valerio Cometti, whose brief was to preserve the original Appartamento’s distinctive aesthetic, whilst also seeking to evolve the design for today’s barista.
A smoother contour and sensual feel has been brought to the almost “Bauhaus” architecture of the original machine which increases the desire to touch and interact with the “new” AppartamentoTCA.
Aesthetically the new Appartamento has been softened to enhance the relationship between the machine and the barista, through the introduction of two new design elements: new housing with smoother rounded sides and new accentuated side holes.
A new design for the “engine” of Appartamento: the brewing group. A dynamic, purposeful shape, with a distinctive look that sets it apart from imitators, allowing the Appartamento TCA to stand out in this category of premium domestic machines.
Not only aesthetical changes have been made to the Appartamento TCA: Thanks to the new electronics developed by Rocket, the Appartamento TCA allows the user to adjust and manage new machine functions:
The new control board allows for 4 different temperature presets to be selected as well as offering the possibility to select an energy saving mode which puts the machine in stand-by after 30 minutes of non usage.
In addition, boiler insulation has been improved which reduces overall energy consumption by 15%.
A new ergonomic portafilter handle as well as a wider drip tray complement the vast list of upgrades from the previous Appartamento.
