Specs and Details
The new Silenzio has the same knob and switch that you found on the previous generation Mignon Mk 2, which is a good thing because it was always very easy to operate. The switch is for the timer or manual mode while the knob is for the regulation of the timer. As the name suggests, the main difference with the previous generation is the silence. Thanks to an anti-vibration system called silent technology the coffee grinder is up to 20 dB quieter than the previous Mk 2. In practical terms this means being able to grind your coffee shot and be able to talk with anyone around you. The coffee grinder is also fitted with a system that eliminates the electrostatic charge of the ground coffee avoiding the clumps being formed and giving you a uniform and consistent ground coffee. Inside you will find 50 mm flat hardened steel burrs powered by a 1350 rpm motor and capable of 1,6 grams per second. The stepless micrometric regulation system will allow you to quickly pass to different ground settings from Turkish to French Press.
Pros
The Silence: as the name suggests, the Silenzio is extremely silent compared to any conventional coffee grinder. This makes it ideal for apartments with thin walls.
Compactness: this coffee grinder will fit basically everywhere, even in the smallest kitchens
Things to Consider
Careful with the hopper: the plastic hopper and the lid on top in particular, are fragile and can easily break if dropped.
Single and Double Doses: if you often jump between single and double doses then we recommend spending a little more and going for the Mignon Specialita’ or Perfetto. The touch screen allows programming both single, double or manual doses.

EUREKA MIGNON SILENZIO COFFEE GRINDER
EUREKA MIGNON SILENZIO COFFEE GRINDER is great choice to make a espresso cup from fresh coffe beans.
I am very pleased with design and materials bulid in.
Wonderful Grinder! (not perfect)
We make espresso in our household, and had been using an inexpensive burr grinder (Capresso Infinity) that was doing fine with the pressurized filter baskets, but I wanted to change over to the non-pressurized baskets. Getting just the right grind becomes very important, and so I began researching the choices we had in the price range we could afford, and decided on one of the Eureka Mignon grinders. I would have been okay with any of the line, but the sound dampening and the timed grind feature were attractive to me, the larger burrs and a touch screen I did not consider a good value. The experience ordering from Espressocoffeeshop.com was very good, and our grinder got here quickly and safely. When I unboxed the grinder the impression I had was that this is a quality grinder, and for the most part it has lived up to that impression. I love how quiet it is. The timed grind will get you in the neighborhood, but you can't rely on it to be accurate or consistent. For a dose of 16 grams I have it set for about 15 grams and get 14.5 to 15.6 out. I then switch to manual mode and bump the switch for an extra bit.
Pros: excellent grind quality, no clumps or static at espresso grind
very quiet
the ability to make fractional changes to the grind setting to dial in the perfect shot
it looks nice
Cons: our portafilter did not fit in the holder, and the button to activate the grinder is kind of slick/slippery, so it's easier to grind into a vessel and transfer the coffee to the filter
the hopper is cheaply made and the top rattles, defeating some of the quiet technology
grounds sometimes kick out of the slot for the hopper shut off gate, ending up on top of the grinder
when single dosing I sometimes noted a whole bean was left sitting on top of the hopper gate, which does not retract fully out of the hopper chute
the adjustment knob is small and the fine tuning of the grind can be fussy (you can taste the difference between a setting of 1.6 and 1.65, but it's awkward to make the tiny change)
when I set it to grind for drip coffee there was massive static cling, coffee was everywhere (a spritz of water would settle that down, I believe)
Summary: we love the subtle flavors of coffee we can now enjoy(using good beans), thanks to this grinder- maybe it's the flat burrs, but definitely the infinite adjustments. It does a great job for espresso. It is very quiet. It looks good. The family rolls their eyes when I begin to talk about how much I love our coffee grinder and our morning coffee, LoL. We'd buy it again, and we'd buy from Espressocoffeeshop.com again. While I find little design details to nit pick, the only real complaint is the adjustment knob has me splitting hairs to get the right setting, when with some re-engineering it could be much easier to make and change settings for espresso. There are 3d printed larger knobs that can replace the factory one. I've heard that helps, but why should I have to make changes to a new grinder to get it to work the way it should?
Exceptional grinder at its price
I highly recommend this grinder as an upgrade from an entry level one. It rivals the Niche and DF64 and I absolutely love the aesthetic. Single dosing is still possible with this machine, just get a bellows if you’re particular about it.
Shipped extremely fast to Canada via UPS in 3 days. Thanks Espresso Coffee Shop!
Great
Silent, as promised. Minimal retention.
Great machine
This machine has a solid build. It works great. Minimal clumping and very quite in comparison to other machines.
Fantastic product
Really love this grinder.
So quiet and well manufactured.
Great Silent Grinder
Very quiet and fast grinder. It does need a portafilter funnel or a deeper filter. Grinds spill out a little without one.
Exactly what we needed
We're so happy with our Silenzio grinder! As I was researching what to get, 2 things were very important to us. I wanted a step-less grinder to be able to tune to my hearts desire, and mainly the noise. In a small apartment, we wanted to be able to use the grinder without waking up the kiddos. This guy fits the bill perfectly. It's fast, easy to use, and feels built to last. Our lid broke during shipping (they're extremely fragile) and they quickly sent over a replacement. Couldn't be happier with our purchase!
Great, quiet, reliable machine
I had the Silenzio for just over 6 months now and I still can't believe I own this. The build quality is exceptional, and product is beautiful and I get perfect grinds every time, given the right configurations.
The shipping time was just about a week which is phenomenal, given the overseas shipping.
Keep in mind that it isn't "silent", you'd still likely raise your voice when talking with someone in the kitchen while the grinding is happening, but I would not hear it in the next room.
I still recommend espressocoffeeshop.com and other Eureka products to anyone that is looking.
